This month I wanted to be different and move away from the usual discussions around the market and what is happening to interest rates. I was inspired to write this following a conversation with one of our team recently. We were discussing another amazing review that a client has left for us on Google, and the subject of what we actually do for clients came up.
Many people think the job of a mortgage advisor is simply to find you the cheapest mortgage deal. This is certainly part of what we do, although we prefer to say we find the most appropriate mortgage for your individual circumstances, as “cheapest” can mean many different things and the best deal isn’t always necessarily the one with the lowest rate or payment.
What we actually do, goes way beyond simply finding the mortgage deal and as a team we are constantly reminded of this by our clients and what they tell us.
A good mortgage advisor will guide you through the whole process of buying your home, from the initial stages of working out what you can afford, through the intricacies of the mortgage market and the minefield that can be the legal process once you have found the right property, as well as making sure you have the right insurance cover in place.
This is why we talk about our job being to get our clients into their dream home and making sure they can stay there for as long as they want to, whatever life throws at them.
